Investment Overview

Rock Springs Ranch is a 449.48-acre camp, retreat, and conference property in the Kansas Flint Hills, set on one of the last remaining expanses of native tallgrass prairie. The property sits just outside Junction City at 1168 Highway K157. The Kansas 4-H Foundation has owned and operated it continuously since 1946, and it has become one of the state's best-known youth camp and retreat destinations. The campus includes 48 buildings totaling about 137,440 SF and can host groups of 20 to 600+. Lodging ranges from the Leadership Lodge and several cottages to the Stoneybrook and Hilltop cabin areas. There are 18 meeting and event venues, including Heritage Hall and Spencer Auditorium (386 seats), the Riley-Wallace Education Building, Williams Dining Hall (750 capacity), and outdoor pavilions and chapels suited to weddings and worship services. Recreation facilities include a pool, the Christy Stables with a herd of 20+ horses, a climbing wall, an adventure course, archery and rifle ranges, canoeing, and miles of prairie trails. The ranch gets its water from its own spring, one of the largest and most reliable in Kansas. It flows at about 1,000 gallons per minute and is treated on site to serve the whole facility. More than $1 million in capital improvements have been completed recently, including cabin renovations and a new Health Center. The property currently runs youth camps in June and July and corporate, group, and family retreats the rest of the year.
